Francis Perkins, the inaugural Chair of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA), established this prestigious award in 1982 to honour members who dedicate their time and effort to advancing the interests of the insurance broking sector. This recognition celebrates their unwavering commitment and significant contributions to the industry.
The award was instigated to give recognition to members of the association who offer their time and energy to promote the causes of the insurance broking sector. Each year, a BIBA member is presented with the Francis Perkins Award at The BIBA Conference. The award highlights the incredible contributions of individuals who have significantly impacted BIBA and the broader insurance broking community.

David Perry presented with BIBA’s Francis Perkins Award
Francis Perkins, the first Chair of BIBA, instigated the award to give recognition to members of the Association who give their time and energy to promote the causes of the insurance broking sector. The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has named David Perry, Chief Executive of FSB Insurance Service, as the winner of its 2024 Francis Perkins Award.
The judges selected David because of his incredible contribution to BIBA. David has been an influential advocate and a consistent support in BIBA’s journey for over 20 years, sitting on BIBA’s main Board and multiple other BIBA advisory boards and committees.
