AI and tech explained simply
When you first hear about using AI and technology in insurance it might sound complex or intimidating. It reality it is there as a support tool to help you do your job.
What does matter, however, is how these tools are used in the workplace. Different employers have different policies, expectations, and risk appetites when it comes to AI, technology, and data use. Something that feels harmless or informal in one organisation may be inappropriate in another.
You may already be using systems that include AI without realising it. As you start your career, it’s important to understand what these tools are for, where their limits are, and how personal and professional use can differ. Sharing the wrong information, using tools outside agreed processes, or blurring personal and work use can cause problems very quickly.
Where you might encounter AI and tech in your day‑to‑day role
Early‑career brokers might come across AI and technology in small, practical ways that support learning, organisation and communication. In all cases, technology should support your role, not replace your responsibility or judgement.
