Caroline Barr, Non-Executive Director (NED) at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has been announced as incoming Chair, taking over the position when Jonathan Evans’ tenure finishes at the end of the year.
Graeme Trudgill, BIBA CEO, made the announcement during his opening address at The BIBA Conference 2025, thanking Jonathan for his exceptional leadership over the past six years as BIBA Chair.
Telling the audience that BIBA is entering a new era he introduced Caroline as the first female Chair of BIBA. Caroline was previously a Deputy Director at HM Treasury, she was a member of the Financial Services Consumer Panel, is a NED at Blackrock Life and has sat on the BIBA main Board for six years.
Caroline also chairs BIBA’s influential Access to Insurance Committee spearheading its signposting and financial inclusion work.
Caroline said: “I am extremely proud to have been offered this position, albeit that Jonathan will be sorely missed when he leaves. He did fantastic work for the association during his tenure and I want to continue the momentum that he built. There is still much work to be done.”
Graeme paid tribute to Jonathan’s invaluable contributions including the significant challenges that he took the association, and brokers, through during his time as Chair.
He concluded: “Caroline has already been a guiding light on our main Board, and we look forward to her leading us forward into the new era of insurance broking.”
