The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has renewed its member scheme with broker Renovation Plan for properties undergoing renovation work.
Renovation Plan is a specialist insurance scheme for properties undergoing construction, renovation or conversion catering for large or small projects including both residential and commercial properties.
The scheme covers the existing structure, party wall insurance, contract works and liability for a wide range of projects, valuing between £25,000 – £5,000,000, including standard extensions, barn conversions, basement conversions, self-builds, listed buildings, churches and commercial buildings. It provides enhanced hand tools cover, an enhanced hired-in plant limit, and no minimum levels of support.
Mike Hallam, BIBA’s Head of Technical Services, said: “We are pleased to renew this popular scheme that provides brokers with access to a specialist policy to ensure their customers have adequate insurance protection throughout renovation projects. Most standard policies are unlikely to provide cover if a property is unoccupied and undergoing work nor will they cover the building work itself.”
Dean Wright, Head of Sales for Renovation Plan, added: “We are really pleased to have renewed the scheme with BIBA and look forward to continuing to offer specialist cover and service to BIBA members. We have forged some great relationships over the last three years which we look forward to further developing, and I am excited about the new relationships we will create in the next three years!”
