The BIBA Conference has always attracted inspirational speakers of the highest quality and this year’s digital conference is no exception.
Strengthening Resilience is our conference theme and we have built an agenda full of thought-provoking people able to share their insights and experiences.
Our first keynote speaker on Wednesday is John Glen MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister. In his must-attend address, he will give an economic overview along with his views on the current issues in the general insurance broking sector during one of the most challenging periods it has ever faced.
The next speaker is Steve Richards who regularly presents Radio 4’s Week in Westminster. Steve Richards is an author, columnist and BBC presenter. His latest book is ‘Prime Ministers – Reflections on Leadership from Wilson to Johnson’. He has written columns for the Independent, Guardian, Times and FT, and has presented a series of unscripted television talks on modern Prime Ministers entitled Leadership Reflections, another series on “Turning Points in British Politics”, and a further series ‘Reflections: The Prime Ministers We Never Had’… the theme of his next book. In his session, Steve will take you behind the scenes of all the current political dramas, trying to make sense of the epic events and bringing to life the main political players.
Join us on Thursday to hear our BIBA panel Talking Resilience. Reflecting on the theme of the BIBA 2021 Conference, our host Huw Edwards discusses resilience in all its relevant guises with BIBA Chair Jonathan Evans, Deputy Chair Laura High and Chief Executive Steve White.
Finally, on Thursday, Elizabeth Linder, will be focusing on The Connected World. Elizabeth founded and led Facebook’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region Politics and Government division. She was instrumental in building links between the social media giant and branches of government and politics around the world, accompanying Mark Zuckerberg on his first European tour. Now heading her own consultancy, The Conversational Century, she aims to improve the conversation between the public, business, and political leaders. She is also a Senior Consulting Fellow at Chatham House where she leads the think-tank’s Connectivity Initiative and advises on the future of foreign policy in a connected world. With first-hand experience of the influence of social media, for both good and ill, she considers the realities, hype and consequences of an increasingly connected society. This will be a session full of learning opportunities and key takeaways based on social media in the modern world, so make you are ready to take lots of notes.
As always, the speaker programme is complemented by a series of six topical seminars this year covering: The future of insurance broking; Business interruption; Mental health in a post-pandemic landscape; Professional indemnity – a hard market; Regulation, and Equality diversity & inclusion.
Lindsay Campbell, BIBA Conference Director said: “We are excited to bring you an amazing digital conference experience to ensure The BIBA Conference 2021 remains the must-attend insurance broking event.
While we are sad not to be able to gather everyone in person this year, we are confident our inspiring keynote speakers, seminar sessions, plus of course, our fringe programme, will give attendees fabulous insight and tangible learnings to take back to their businesses.”
Exhibiting and sponsorship opportunities are now available, which will guarantee access to thousands of key decision-makers before, during and after the conference, offering plenty of opportunity to do business with insurers and service providers, as well as generating interest from prospective customers on one seamless digital platform.
