Scoop of the Year Award
Today we announced our first winners our BIBA Journalist and Media Award. We kicked off with the Scoop of the Year category, judge by Peter Blanc, Aston Lark’s Group CEO.
Peter made a Highly Commended award for great work obtaining the scoop on Marsh’s office closures. He mentioned how it’s challenging to obtain inside information, but the journalist managed to shine a spotlight on it using her sources in the market.
The Scoop of the Year winner presented an article on uncovering loopholes in the UK’s vehicle history check system. Peter thought it was very informed and a very interesting subject matter while also being well presented and useful to consumers.

Best Consumer Award
This afternoon we announced the winner of our Best Consumer Award, judged by BBA’s Non-Executive Director, Caroline Barr. Caroline said the article was well-researched, with excellent use of data, yet also very easy for consumers to read. She thought that the travel insurance guide to a better deal was extremely helpful, particularly for vulnerable consumers.
Caroline complimented the writer’s style of writing and said it was very engaging.
