We continue our BIBA Journalist and Media Awards winner week! Today we are pleased to announce our winner of the Best Interview/Profile Award, judged by the Director General of the ABI, Huw Evans.
Huw described this article as a must-read piece to understand one of the key dramas of recent years in our industry. This was a serious and thoughtful profile of the man and the business, combining personal insights with financial commentary.
The journalist was unafraid to ask the hard questions and ended up with some real answers, not corporate spin. A mature and wide-ranging piece of journalism.
Best Interview/Profile Award
Winner: Siân Barton, Insurance Age
In our Journalist & Media Awards we move on to our Thought Leadership Award, judged by Marsh Ltd Chair, Roy White.
Roy wanted to make a Highly Commended award for an article that was a personal and brave piece from the journalist . An under reported issue in our industry that – with the Covid crisis – is now being rightly put centre stage. Lucidly written it is journalism that makes one sit up and reflect. Roy said he reread this piece more than any other and will share it with colleagues.
The winning article was a piece of journalism that will resonate with the insurance professional. Pitched perfectly to their audience this was the most thorough of articles tackling the issue from every perspective. Typically, analytical in approach it is constructed logically and with balance. But there remains an editorial dimension to the piece that gives it bite and has prompted debate. Addressing a specific workstream within the ‘Future’ project but drawing wider lessons.
Thought Leadership Award
Highly Commended: Siân Barton, Insurance Age
Winner: Adam McNestrie and Catrin Shi, The Insurance Insider
