**UPDATE** FCA senior team join BIBA’s 2024 Tour of the Regions
I am delighted to confirm that the Financial Conduct Authority has committed to attending 10 of the 11 UK -wide events on our annual Tour of the Regions this year, which starts in the Anglia Region on 4 September. By being there, the FCA’s insurance team will have the opportunity to explain their work directly to BIBA broker members and hear their feedback. This is a rare opportunity for you to meet and discuss insurance broking issues directly with the regulator’s senior insurance team.
I feel that it is really important for the regulator to have a good understanding of the operations of regional broker businesses and that, in turn, those regional brokers know what is expected of them. I am pleased that the FCA team will be able to meet members and have highly constructive discussions across the UK this autumn.
I have spoken to Matt Brewis, Director, Insurance at the FCA and I know he is delighted to be attending and respects the important role that insurance brokers perform for customers and the UK economy. He, and the FCA team, will also value the opportunity to discuss regulatory compliance and broaden mutual understanding.
These BIBA events have been running for over 10 years, providing members with an accessible means of discussing what matters to them with the senior BIBA team. Last year the introduction of guest speakers was highly popular with members, and we are delighted that the FCA team has committed to join us along with Flood Re.
