Billie Elliott was looking for travel insurance for her nephew’s year long trip to Japan. She was surprised and frustrated when she tried but failed multiple times to purchase the policy online. Eventually Billie was signposted to BIBA’s Find Insurance Service and found a specialist to cover a working trip. Billie commented: “Originally I didn’t realise that this was a non-standard requirement. Each time I received a quote, I would complete all the details but it would stop short of taking a payment. I was very frustrated. Things only got better when it was explained to me that a year long holiday was unlikely – that’s when everything dropped into place, I was looking for the wrong product as my nephew was travelling on a working visa.”

Billie explained that the was most important thing is to be able to get her nephew home if something were to happen and for his medical treatment to be covered. She added: “It’s no good finding out on your death bed that your cover has been cancelled because you took the wrong product. As I suspect thousands of others potentially do.”
