BIBA is recruiting a Membership Manager to manage the membership team’s operation both internally and externally through communications and events. The role is a home-based position with a requirement to attend our London office and other office events as and when required.

The role

You will be part of a UK team of six and report to the Head of Commercial. You will be responsible for managing the membership team (currently one direct report).  You will be the ‘go to’ place for queries from BIBA members, regional committees, as well as the internal commercial team.

The person

Attention to detail is essential. You will need excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, advanced Excel and other Microsoft app experience. You will have to be naturally self-motivating with experience of working remotely. You will be confident, diverse, approachable, accessible, decisive, tenacious, diplomatic and bring a ‘can do’ attitude. You will need a strong commercial awareness and have an understanding of the insurance industry, specifically of insurance brokers.

Responsibilities 

  • To manage the day-to-day administration, upkeep and development of the membership database (including departmental system applications), and the Broker ASSESS  learning system
  • To function as a company representative to members and non-members, advising them of the benefits of BIBA and the Broker ASSESS package
  • To manage staff members within the membership department

 Duties include: 

  • Responsibility for the membership departmental budget in support with the Head of Commercial (HOC ) and to be responsible for generating monthly numbers
  • In conjunction with HOC, be responsible for producing the commercial team’s board and business plans
  • To maintain the integrity and accuracy of the data held on the membership system and deliver training to staff where required
  • To arrange and facilitate the BIBA renewals subscription programme
  • Investigate and interrogate the membership data to extract database intelligence and manage all membership reporting
  • Responsible for the training, direction, PDR’s and overall development of the membership team
  • To liaise, manage and co-ordinate as required with third party suppliers
  • To function as a focal point for supporting the regions, HOC and Area Managers
  • Managing the organising of events such as compliance forums and regional events
  • Support the Find Insurance (FIS) Manager with the day-to-day queries for FIS Service to include liaising with panel members, call operators, dealing with daily administration from broker panel members, i.e., changes to classes of insurance, distribution of transfers to accommodate broker panel staffing issues etc.
  • Oversee all membership enquiries, regional events and membership team inboxes
  • Manage BIBA’s Young Broker of the Year award. Market to members, collate entries, arrange judges external and internal, plan, organise and administer the finals day held at BIBA office. Attend judge’s meetings and make notes on each candidate, communicate with candidates, confirm finalists attendance at conference, arrange cheques and certificates for presentation
  • Manage conference stand at BIBA’s annual conference
  • To undertake ad hoc work as and when requested.
