Networking is a key aspect of working in the insurance profession
and is a key skill for professional growth and visibility. Networking can help you build a personal brand, gain confidence, connect with peers and influential figures, and stay informed about industry trends – all of which help career development and recognition within a people-focused industry.
For those wanting to start out networking in insurance first check if your firm has any , internal Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) which can be a great starting point. ERGs are usually organisation-supported employee-led groups providing a forum for employees with shared characteristics or life experiences. They can also be a great way to connect with colleagues across different departments and hierarchy levels based on shared identities, interests, or experiences.
