We were delighted to recently announce that BIBA has renewed its medical travel scheme with our long-term providers, AllClear Travel.
In these extremely challenging times, AllClear has been working hard behind the scenes to help brokers provide some form of positive messaging to customers understandably concerned about existing policies and policies due for renewal.
Whilst it’s certainly very true we can’t all travel right now, it is encouraging to see a scheme provider proactively thinking about the problems brokers currently face.
In the space of a couple of weeks since the scheme was renewed, AllClear has already delivered the following:
For customers of BIBA brokers who have annual policies with more than 8 months to run from May 1st 2020:
- A three month extension automatically added to the expiry date of the current policy at no cost to the customer
For renewals or for potential new business opportunities:
- A new 15 month extended annual policy – including 3 months free
- Up to 90 days deferral of the annual policy start date (provided no trips booked during the deferred period)
- Ability to transfer dates on a single trip policy for up to 12 months. The facility to refer, on a case by case basis, trips transferred beyond 12 months.
AllClear CEO, Chris Rolland explains: “In twenty five years working in financial services, I’ve never experienced tougher trading conditions. For those brokers specialising in travel insurance, the ability to sell to even the most loyal of customers has been severely challenged by the impact of COVID-19. We continue to work tirelessly with our underwriters and our key partners to try to provide innovative solutions to very real problems.”
Mike Hallam, BIBA’s Head of Technical Services, added: “We welcome this news from AllClear. It is encouraging that despite a very difficult trading environment they are providing new initiatives to help both members and their clients.”
