Over the past few weeks, BIBA and some of its specialist trade credit members have been working hard alongside the ABI to avoid a sudden withdrawal of trade credit insurance in response to the Covid-19 crisis. We have given evidence to BEIS, HMT, the CBI and the ABI in support of the need for Government intervention to ensure that the supply of trade credit insurance remains uninterrupted, especially as businesses enter the vital re-opening phase. Steve White commented: “We are delighted that Government has announced today its plans to support the continuing supply of affordable trade credit insurance at a critical point on the road to restarting the economy. I would like to thank our members for their valuable input, especially the real life examples of how the withdrawal of trade credit insurance is impacting their clients.”
