1st July 2026

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has named Tom Luckham of Insurance Post as the 2026 BIBA Journalist of the Year at its annual Journalist & Media Awards.

In their 44th year, the Association’s prestigious awards recognise the important role of the media in increasing the understanding of insurance and insurance broking.

Congratulating Tom, BIBA’s CEO Graeme Trudgill said: “Tom stood out from the very beginning. Across just two entries in highly competitive categories he achieved an exceptional result, securing wins in each. This success is a testament to his outstanding skill as a journalist, sharp insight, and deep understanding of the sector.”

Graeme continued: “The judges were unanimous in their praise, highlighting not only the quality and clarity of Tom’s writing, but also the genuine relevance to the broking community. What makes this achievement even more impressive is that Tom only began writing on insurance in 2023.”

The Publication of the Year was awarded to Insurance Insider. Its journalists were judged to write excellent articles displaying extensive, in-depth knowledge and understanding about their specialist subject.
