The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) is both of those things and more We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who can manage stakeholders and data equally well to manage our highly respected and successful Find Insurance Service.

Our Find Insurance Service helps consumers and businesses find the insurance protection they need, particularly in cases when insurance cover is more challenging to obtain. Operating online and via an outsourced call centre we handle many hundreds of thousands of enquiries every year.

We are seeking someone to lead the day to day management of both sides of the service, which is an integral part of BIBA, the UK’s leading insurance brokers’ trade association.

You will be comfortable managing queries from insurance broker panel members, identifying and rectifying performance issues and analysing data to monitor and drive forward performance levels.   A key BIBA team member, you will have your finger on the pulse of activities within the organisation and in the sector and will have the support of your colleagues.

Key responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management, upkeep and development of BIBA’s Find Insurance Service, online and via our call centre
  • Performance and budgetary reviews
  • Input into and delivery of the Find Insurance Service’s future strategy to deliver success through promotion, proactive engagement and ongoing service enhancements.
  • Effective vetting and performance monitoring of firms on the Find Insurance Service
  • Delivery of timely statistical reports to relevant stakeholders

Experience and qualifications 

 High standard of relationship management skills

  • Experience of operations management
  • Advanced IT systems knowledge
  • Insurance experience/ qualifications
  • Call centre management experience
  • High standard of organisational, report writing and budget management skills

Position Description

Responsible for:

 Manage the day-to-day administration, upkeep and development of the full Find Insurance Service, including both the website service and the call centre

  • Maintain monthly performance and budgetary reviews across all fundamental elements of the Find Insurance Service, continuously improving all service elements
  • Work with BIBA’s Executive Director  to agree and deliver the future strategy for the Find Insurance Service ensuring the overall success, promotion, proactive engagement with new organisations/ charities and increased improvement of the service
  • Vetting of firms on the Find Insurance Service
  • Reporting on service stats to relevant stakeholders (Government departments, BIBA’s Access to Committee,  the ABI)

 Duties include:

  • Manage the Find Insurance Service: liaising with outsourced call centre contract and activity, panel members, call operators, dealing with daily administration from broker panel members, i.e. changes to classes of insurance, addition of new distribution of transfers to accommodate broker panel staffing issues etc.
  • Manage Find Insurance Service call volume distribution, weekly, monthly and report on stats
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the data held on the membership system in relation to panel members and income/expenditure
  • To liaise, manage and co-ordinate as required with panel members and all stakeholders
  • To ensure the accuracy and ease of use for consumers of the Find Insurance website service
  • To act as a focal point for the Find Insurance Service supporting panel members, signposters, BIBA colleagues and, in conjunction with BIBA’s Executive Director, all other stakeholders
  • Manage the IT responsibilities in relation to the service
  • Ad hoc work as and when requested.
