BIBA LINKEDIN GROUP RULES

In order for the group to be a success we ask that you be respectful of other members’ opinions. As long as the opinions, views and debates are not threatening, abusive, discriminatory or harassing, everyone is entitled to express themselves.

JOINING
The group is open to BIBA broker members.

By making a request or accepting to join the Linked-In group, you are acknowledging that you have read and accepted the following terms of use (which apply in addition to the Linked-In User Agreement).

The information contained within this group is for general information only and does not constitute any form of advice or endorsement from BIBA. You should not rely on this information to make, or refrain from making, any decisions. Always obtain independent, professional advice for your own particular situation.

The opinions expressed within this group are those of the author and are not held by BIBA. BIBA does not monitor posts, and relies on group members to report any inappropriate content.

BIBA reserves the right to remove or edit any posts or comments from this group.

PROMOTIONAL POSTINGS:
To keep the forum as clean and productive as possible, anyone posting or promoting direct sales pitches or spam will be removed from the group.

How do you know if you are promoting a business/organisation, product or self?

Simple: if your message/post:
§ Requires clicking on a promotional link to access information (i.e. news, blog, or resource announcements);
§ Promotes a product or service (commercial, paid or free), blog or website, free download, a LinkedIn Group or other social networking community, or an event;
§ Self-promotional (holiday/religious greetings, personal introductions, etc);
§ No religious, political or non-profit discussions are allowed.

DISCUSSIONS:
Discussions are questions/ideas that clearly invite member responses related to the insurance broker market or the activities of BIBA.

Inappropriate postings can be covered by the list below:
§ Not in English;
§ Harassing, abusive, or threatening;
§ Attacking individuals or groups;
§ Derogatory, unprofessional or disrespectful;
§ Harmful to minors, obscene/pornographic, objectionable, or in violation of any UK law;
§ Infringing on intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties;
§ Multi-level marketing or other pyramid scheme offers;
§ Job promotions.

MISPLACED POSTINGS:
Misplaced postings are postings in discussions that should be in the promotions or jobs area.

RULES ENFORCEMENT:
BIBA reserve the right, but has no obligation, to monitor postings and, without further notice, delete inappropriate postings, and move misplaced postings.

The deletion of an inappropriate posting and the move of a misplaced posting both constitute a warning. We reserve the right to restrict, remove, or block members without further notice. Member’s permissions may be changed to ‘require moderation’ after any inappropriate posting.

Members may be removed and blocked if they:
• Egregiously post an inappropriate posting;
• Post inappropriate postings more than once ;
• Misplace postings more than twice ;
• Spam or harass members;
• Break a LinkedIn User Agreement rule

RULES EXCEPTION:
The group owner and group managers are allowed to post links to white papers, audio/video recordings, events, surveys, affiliated social networking groups, products, services and other group-related resources in the discussions area announcements.
