Following discussions with BIBA, the ABI and FCO, the ABI announced that its leading members will extend cover for medical emergency cover to a minimum of 60 days for customers stuck abroad and trying to return to the UK.
We believe this is a positive step for showing how the industry is supporting customers in these difficult circumstances. We also understand from HMT that, since agreeing this pledge, other non-ABI insurers such as TIF and Mapfre have said they will follow suit.
