I wanted to let you know about an initiative that has been launched by the ABI to offer help in these challenging times.

The Covid-19 Support Fund has been created by the Insurance and Long-Term Savings sector and will complement firms’ existing charitable giving and aims, through collaboration, to help to maximise the impact of the insurance sector’s donations and help frontline charities speedily.

The Covid-19 Support Fund will work with the Charities Aid Foundation to provide urgent support in three core areas:

·       Community based charities who are under unprecedented strain.
·       The most vulnerable – families and children living in greatest poverty
and older people in isolation in particular.
·       Helping businesses to help their employees including wellbeing and
mental health.

I know that many of our members are themselves directly and significantly impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. You are facing challenges in your businesses as well as working tirelessly to help your clients navigate their way through this period.  Many of you are working in your communities and local charities to help cope with the lockdown and the impact of the disease.

BIBA has agreed to support the initiative in terms of raising awareness and the initiative may provide an additional way in which you can help. Clearly though, this is a decision for each business and each individual. However, I felt you would want to know about its launch. More details are available on the ABI website.
