William Hague and Professor Brian Cox named as BIBA 2015 speakers

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has named the Rt. Hon William Hague, Professor Brian Cox, Andrew Strauss, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Kevin Keegan and Professor Steve Peters as BIBA’s 2015 keynote speakers.

BIBA’s 2015 conference has the theme ‘Delivering our Promise’ and will take place on May 13 & 14 at Manchester Central. The former Newsnight anchor, Jeremy Paxman, will host the conference.

William Hague will address delegates in the afternoon of Wednesday May 13 and Professor Brian Cox, recently appointed as the Royal Society’s first Professor for Public Engagement in Science, will close the conference the following day.

Opening the conference there will be an opportunity to assess the health of the UK’s insurance industry in the company of four of the sector’s biggest names, Amanda Blanc, CEO, Commercial Lines & Personal Intermediary, AXA Insurance; Andy Watson, CEO, Ageas UK; Peter Blanc, previously Chief Executive of Oval and Julie Page, CEO, Commercial & Consumer, Marsh.

Six seminar sessions on a wide range of topics, from technology in motor insurance to customer satisfaction in the insurance sector, data segmentation, the new surge in British manufacturing, management speak and risk taking are all included in the programme. A full stream of Fringe sessions open to all attendees will once again support the main programme.

Steve White, BIBA’s Chief Executive, said: “Delivering our Promise is about articulating what brokers do for their customers, acting as trusted advisors and helping to minimise risk. It also allows us as BIBA to talk about ‘our’ promise to members to always act in their best interests.”
