‘The Go To Place…’ announced as the theme for BIBA 2016

8th October 2015

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has announced that ‘The Go To Place…’ has been chosen as the theme of the 2016 conference and exhibition to be held at Manchester Central on May 11 & 12.

BIBA’s Chief Executive Steve White commented:

“The UK insurance industry has long been regarded as world leading. Brokers are the Go To place for advice, choice and expertise, and BIBA is becoming the Go To place for informed opinion on our sector. Added to that is the growing appeal of the annual BIBA Conference, now Europe’s largest insurance broking event, allowing this year’s theme to resonate with all our delegates.

“As in previous years, entry to the conference and exhibition is FREE to all employees of BIBA member firms and all brokers and intermediaries are welcome to attend the exhibition at no cost. All pre-registered delegates and visitors will receive complimentary lunches and refreshments.”

Lindsay Campbell, BIBA’s Conference Organiser, said:

‘We’ve always enjoyed excellent conferences and exhibitions in Manchester; visitor feedback is overwhelmingly positive about the city and its facilities. Brokers and insurers seem to love the informality and the closeness of all the facilities, restaurants and hotels.

We had another fantastic conference in 2015 and I’m sure we can forecast another successful event in May. We’re currently working on the speakers and once again we expect the line up to be the usual mix of unmissable keynotes and topical seminars. I’m also really pleased that the fringe programme has gone from strength to strength with more and more visitors seeing this as a valuable part of the conference mix.”

The BIBA Young Broker Day, introduced in 2015, will continue as part of the programme in 2016. Young Broker Day will be held on Thursday May 12 and is free to brokers and intermediaries under the age of 30. The initiative was a major success in 2015 with a sell-out attendance. Young Brokers have access to tailored seminars to help with career development and learn specific skills to help them take the next steps to broker management.
