Nicola Maguire steps up to become BIBA’s new Head of Commercial

25th February 2016

Nicola Maguire has taken the new role of Head of Commercial at BIBA to drive forward the organisation’s commercial activity including the development of schemes and facilities to benefit members as well as increasing member engagement.

Since joining BIBA in January 2014, Nicola has seen the number of BIBA schemes and facilities in the portfolio increase to more than 30 and has also been instrumental in developing BIBA’s young broker initiative to facilitate emerging talent in the insurance broking industry.

Commenting on her appointment Nicola said: “Having spent most of my career inside both insurers and brokers it’s been great working in a team that really seeks to promote the unique service that insurance brokers can provide to customers.  BIBA is well positioned to drive forward the broking sector by giving our members the tools they need to continue providing advice and protection to their customers.”

Maguire will be supported in the field by current Area Managers; Sue Dimmock, Central; Lindsay Cunningham Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as Neil Jenkinson.

Jenkinson joined BIBA as Area Manager North from APC in January 2016 and brings with him extensive knowledge of the north of England insurance broking market.  Speaking of his appointment he said; “BIBA works for its members in terms of promoting the sector and I’m excited about getting out in the region, hearing what our members have to say and keeping them up to date with what we can do for them.”

Steve White, BIBA CEO said “Having a highly effective commercial team is one of our strategic objectives. Chris Knott our outgoing commercial manager who retires this week has put in place a team that can really engage with brokers, understand what drives them and put facilities in place that they need.  I’m sure the team, now led by Nicola, will continue in this vein and all our members will see the benefit.”
