Jonathan Evans joins BIBA board

1st May 2018

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has appointed Jonathan Evans to its main board as a Non-Executive Director.

Evans, a former Corporate Affairs Minister with responsibility for the Insurance Industry, served two decades as an MP and MEP, and takes up his position today.

With a background in law, particularly insurance law which led to a number of insurance board positions and having also previously chaired the All Party Parliamentary Group on Insurance and Financial Services he is a perfect fit for BIBA.

Steve White, BIBA CEO, said: “We are privileged to have someone with Jonathan’s credentials join our board.  His experience will be invaluable in helping us navigate the changes that our sector is facing.  I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Evans added: “I have long admired the work that BIBA does to represent their member interests and I am delighted to be joining them in a non-exec capacity. There is much to be worked on and I am eager to make a start and to help make a difference.”

BIBA Chairman, Lord Hunt of Wirral, concluded: “This is a real coup for BIBA, with his wealth of experience in many fields Jonathan will be in a position to guide the board and enable the organisation to move forwards and continue to represent brokers at the highest levels.”
