Government consultation to reduce uninsured driving
10th February 2009
The Department for Transport has issued a new consultation paper regarding a new continuous insurance enforcement (CIE) scheme for motor insurance. The new CIE scheme will involve using the motor insurance database to systematically identify those uninsured and will mean increased enquiries to brokers and intermediaries regarding the status of cover form clients as well as a heavy reliance on the MID data by the Government and the Police.
