On 2 April 2004 we issued a Technical Advice Note headed ' Wholesalers of Insurance' which sets out our position and views on the due diligence process that members need to conduct when deciding whether to deal with a wholesaler.

By the same token, wholesalers can use this Note to help produce the suite of information that their retailers are likely to demand of them.

BIBA issued a Technical Advice Note on 14 July 2004 headed ' FSA Regulation and Unauthorised Firms ' which sets out the steps members must consider when looking at their distribution.

BIBA issued a further Technical Advice Note on 28 September 2004, which provides members with a template letter for firms to use to certify where a trading partner opines that they do not need to seek authorisation.
