Guide to Staff Development and Funding

As incoming Chairman, I am very fortunate to have the backing of an extremely hard working committee who are dedicated to promoting BIBA for the benefit of its members.

Our Region has a proud tradition of providing and supporting the excellent Broker Academy training programme and I will do everything in my power to ensure this continues. One of my aims for the coming year is to seek more involvement of the regional member companies, and to this end, we have scheduled several lunchtime talks which we hope will be useful and informative addition to our programme of Events. This initiative followed a talk on Environmental Liabilities in December, which was extremely well received by the regional members who attended.

Professional development of the younger members of our industry is critical for our ongoing success, and with this in mind, our committee will continue to provide heavily subsidised Young Person's Development Days.

The regional committee is an important conduit to ensure topical issues are raised at national level with BIBA. BIBA Head Office works tirelessly, lobbying and campaigning on behalf of its Members, so please feel free to contact myself or any member of the committee if you wish to discuss an issue .

Finally, following the success of a one day event at the Royal Armouries, Leeds in 2008, we are again hosting a similar event on October 5 th 2010. Please revisit this Website on a regular basis for updates.
